How can I show chord charts on my iPad and show lyrics and video in Zoom?
OnSong features Live Video and Broadcasting which let you use OnSong for live-streaming and recording performances. While it's amazing what you can do from one device, you are limited to using your main screen on your iPad or iPhone as a lyrics display using the preview widget. This article will show you how to use the capabilities of Zoom video conferencing software running on your computer to show your lyrics projection along with live video to your audience.
To do this, you'll need to run Zoom on a separate laptop to make this work. Once you have your Zoom meeting set up, tap on the Share Screen button.
This will open a screen with a lot of options, including the ability to share the contents of specific windows on your computer. Locate and click on the iPhone/iPad via AirPlay option (shown with a blue border).
This will then prompt you to mirror your screen on your iPhone or iPad. Use the instructions that appear on your computer to connect to the Zoom-provided AirPlay device.
Now you'll see a "second screen" appear in Zoom that should contain your lyrics, live video, and motion or still backgrounds! You can then use your iPad like normal to view and interact with your chord chart and menus without revealing those to your audience.
