How to use iTunes file sharing with Mac OS Catalina now that iTunes is no more?

With macOS Catalina you may have noticed that iTunes is no longer an app option.  Apple has finally split iTunes into separate apps similar to what has been done in iOS. But if you're using iTunes File Sharing, how can you import and export files on your iOS or iPadOS device?  Apple has moved this data management task to where other data management tasks exist in macOS, the Finder.

Here are some instructions on how to use File Sharing on macOS Catalina and higher:
  1. Plug in your device to your computer using the sync/charge cable.
  2. Open a Finder window as you would for browsing files such as on your Desktop.
  3. Locate the iPad or iPhone on the left side under Locations where you would normally see connected drives.
  4. Click on the Files tab at the top of the screen.
  5. Locate the OnSong app in the interface below and expand.
  6. Drag and drop files here like you would a folder on your computer.
Just adding files into this location does not automatically import those files into OnSong.  This is because the same location is used for exporting files from OnSong too.  You will need to perform these additional steps:
  1. Open OnSong on your device.
  2. Open the Songs Menu by tapping "Songs" in the Menubar.
  3. Select the Songs tab at the bottom and are viewing All Songs, or a selected book.
  4. Tap on the + icon to open the Add Songs Menu.
  5. Select iTunes File Sharing from under the Import section.
  6. Select the files you want to import and tap Import.
